In 2011 Elijah listened to a keynote presentation on the power of incorporating giving into the for-profit business model and walked away to determined to do just that. Just two years later, as the host of Social Good Summit Austin and co-founder of SocialGood.TV, Elijah had the opportunity to interview investors, executives and policy makers from all over the country and discuss the merits of balancing profit and purpose. He is now convinced that social responsibility as part of a for-profit model is not just a nice personal choice… but an absolutely necessary professional choice.
Elijah’s 15 year career as a brand strategist began with a stint in the PR department of his Alma Mater, the University of Southern California, where he facilitated revenue and brand building opportunities through Hollywood film and television studios. In 2008, he moved to Austin, TX, where he became the Communications Director for a socially-conscious healthcare startup. He has since been a development strategist for the Austin Entrepreneur Network and Texas CEO Magazine and a Partner at an interactive marketing firm.
Elijah believes deeply in the power of purpose-based companies to drive innovation and create more productive workplaces.
